Sports-Link, Charnwood Borough Council and Youth service worked in partnership to organise a fun community sports day in Sileby on Wednesday 4 August 2004. On the day there were lots of activities taking place at Sileby Memorial Park, and Sileby Community Centre. Activities available on the day included Tag Rugby, Football, Rounders, Cricket, Dance, and Muti-sport, the day ended with a prestigious tug-of-war event in which local community police officers took part in against young people from Sileby. The event was a great success, it is estimated that 70 young people participated in the activities on the day
