The Positive Activities for Young People scheme is a government funded programme that aims at reducing crime and ant-social behaviour. The scheme is co-coordinate by Connexions through partnerships with Charnwood Arts, Charnwood Borough Council, Loughborough University, Loughborough College, Loughborough Community Action, and In-2-Sport. The PAYP scheme provides free sports activities during School holidays, the scheme also provide support to the young people in the form of 1-2-1 intensive support. There has been PAYP schemes available to young people living in Woodthorpe each school holiday since October 2003.
