The annual World Cup Football event took place in August 2004 with record numbers participating in the prestigious event. The event invites participants living in Leicestershire to compete in teams representing their own country. The 2004 event was made up of teams representing Iraq, Bangladesh, Great Britain, Kosovo, Albania, and Kurdistan. The event was organised in partnership by Sports-Link, Charnwood Borough Council, Leicestershire County Council, Connexions, and In-2-Sports.
