Sean Hastings an attendee of the Next Level Cafe took full advantage of the complimentary football tickets from Leicester City, which were part of the 'Leicester City Chosen Charity Package' which has sponsored the Sports-Link Project since August 2004. Sean- a keen football fan was chosen to benefit from the ticket which enabled him to watch his first ever football match- Leicester City V Cardiff City. Here is Sean's preview of the experience Name- Sean Anthony Hastings. Favourite Football Player? Wayne Rooney. How you got to the ground?- I got in to a taxi from Loughborough and was met by some people at the Robert Peel Pub, and then walked to the ground. Describe what you did when you got to the ground? I was waiting to get in at the turnstiles for a while, and then I went to my seat and watched the football- I just missed the kick-off. Describe where you sat, what could you see from your seats?- We were sitting on the 5th line of seats in the West Stand- I could see the whole pitch. Describe the atmosphere as the ground fills up/players come out of tunnel- There was lots of shouting and cheering as the players came out the tunnel and during the match- when Leicester scored there was a big big cheer. When Cardiff City scored a goal the crowd shouted lots of swear words and were very angry. At the start of the game there was some good passing for Leicester City who were the better side throughout the 1st half. You could here the players talk to each other when they wanted the ball. The crowd were shouting all the time. David Connolly scored during the first half. The Leicester fans were very happy at half time. Then during the second half Cardiff City scored by pure LUCK. Leicester were getting lots of shots in, and had the most possession but none of the shots went in. I feel the referee was not playing fair, I think that he wanted Cardiff City to WIN- he kept giving them decisions. The game finished 1-1. I really enjoyed my first football match- It was a lot of fun. |
